I'm Jamie Brooks. I was by the Alabama State Capitol on Dexter Avenue around 8:15 p.m. last Friday when I realized my two hats were missing from the table outside a late coffee stand. One hat is a gray knit beanie with a tiny patch, the other a navy baseball cap with a faded college logo. I retraced my steps along the Capitol grounds and the riverwalk, but there was no sign. They’re just hats, but they carry memories of chilly evenings here, and I hope someone who found them can return them to the site where they were last left.
