Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Missoula are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Missoula in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost Travel Adapters in Missoula

This morning at 8:15 a.m. I realized my travel adapters were missing from my backpack after checking out of a hotel near Caras Park in Missoula. I had set them on the desk last night and somehow they didn’t make it into my bag this morning. I walked the length of Higgins Avenue toward the Clark Fork River, stopping into a café I’d visited for coffee, but I didn’t see them. They’re small gray adapters with a familiar tangle of cords, essential for keeping my devices charged on this trip. If anyone found them, the site is the right channel to connect us.

Lost: radios near Caras Park, Missoula

Yesterday at 2:30 p.m., I was at Caras Park along the Clark Fork River in Missoula when my two handheld radios slipped from my backpack and vanished between the festival tents and the river trail. One is a black handheld with orange dials; the other is a gray model with a broken antenna. I walked the riverfront, checked the benches by the Carousel, and asked at McCormick Park, but nothing turned up. They remind me of camping trips with my grandfather near the University of Montana campus, and I would be deeply grateful to have them back.

Orange cat-eye sunglasses lost downtown

Orange cat eye sunglasses. Lost I think out of bike basket downtown when I left it locked across from the Rhino (I think someone borrowed them). It is possible I left at Missoula Fairgrounds somewhere after volunteering with green team at the end of Zootown music fest. I was pretty attached and would like them back! Orange and cat eye style, not sure the brand, nothing fancy.

Lost: stamps on UM campus, Missoula

On Friday at 11:30 a.m., I realized a few stamps were missing from my pocket-sized album while I was waiting near the Adams Center concourse on the University of Montana campus in Missoula. The envelope is pale yellow with a simple crest design, and inside are a couple of classic issues I’ve collected since college. I retraced my steps along Higgins Avenue and through Caras Park, but I didn’t find anything, so I’m posting here in the hope that someone might have picked them up. If someone returns them, it would mean a lot to me to keep this collection intact and continue the hobby my grandmother started.

Lost: Equipment for various sports near Caras Park, Missoula

I realized my equipment for various sports was missing after a pickup game near Caras Park and the Higgins Ave footbridge at 7:15 PM. The bag is a gray duffel with a faded red zipper and a few stickers that used to brighten it up. It holds a pair of soccer cleats, a tennis racket, shin guards, and a whistle, all the gear I rotate through for different sports. If you happened to come across it in that area, I’d be grateful to get it back; I’m posting here to help reconnect with my stuff.

LOST: Sheet Music in Missoula

Hi, I’m Isabella Chen. I was leaving the Missoula Public Library after a late rehearsal and realized my binder of sheet music was missing in Missoula, Montana, United States around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. I think I left the binder in the back seat of my car, parked outside the library on East Broadway near Caras Park, not far from the Clark Fork River. The binder is black with a blue cover and my initials in the corner; inside are pages for several ensemble pieces with yellow sticky notes. Those sheets are for tomorrow’s recital, and I’m really hoping to get them back.
