Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Los Angeles are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Los Angeles in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost gym clothes near Sunset Blvd gym

I was wrapping up a sweaty session after a late spin class at the 24 Hour Fitness on Sunset Boulevard yesterday around 7:45 PM. I must have left my gym clothes somewhere near the locker area by the pool, because the moment I walked back with my bag, the hum of the fans and chlorine hit me and they were gone. The set includes navy shorts, a gray moisture-wicking tank, and a matching hoodie with a small red logo. I’m anxious about my long-distance run next weekend and sticking to my training plan without them. If someone found a bag near the pool area, please hold onto it for the owner.

Lost sheet music near Grand Park, Downtown LA

On Saturday evening around 7:30 PM, I realized my sheet music for a small recital was missing as I walked away from a cafe near Grand Park, City Hall, in downtown Los Angeles. The binder is bright yellow, with pencil notes and a page marked 'To my sister'—it’s all used in practice for months. Inside are violin parts, dynamics markings, and a few coffee stains that tell the story of late nights and nerves before the show. Losing it feels like losing a part of me; I hope the finder can connect the notes to my memory and reunite me with them.

Lost brooches in Los Angeles

I was helping set up for a charity luncheon at Grand Central Market around 4:15 PM last Saturday when I realized my brooches were missing. The three small pins are gold-tone with pale green stones, tucked into a navy velvet pouch I keep in my tote. I wore them on my lapel all day, and the last place I remember seeing them was near the fruit stalls outside the market entrance. I’m heartbroken because one came from my grandmother, and I’m hoping they turn up somewhere around downtown LA.

Lost organizers in Los Angeles

I realized Tuesday night, around 7:40 p.m., that my desk organizers were missing from the corner of my workspace near Grand Central Market on Broadway. They’re a light gray set: two shallow trays and a slim acrylic drawer, essential for corralling cables and notes between meetings. I had just wrapped a quick call and stepped out for a coffee at Grand Central Market, and when I came back they were gone. I’m frustrated with the mess of a busy week and missing that little organization I rely on. If you spotted them near the market or the Broad Museum, please keep them safe.

Kenner Star Wars Luke Skywalker figure, 3.75-inch tall, collectors item

I lost my Kenner Star Wars Luke Skywalker action figure from the late 70s yesterday around 5pm outside The Grove on Fairfax Ave in Los Angeles. It's the 3.75-inch loose figure with a white tunic, brown boots, and a blue lightsaber. There's light wear on the left knee and a tiny paint chip on the belt; on the back shoulder there's a faded Kenner logo and a small red sticker with a number I added years ago. It means a lot to me—this was a gift from my late uncle and I’ve had it since I was a kid. If anyone found it, I’d be incredibly grateful to get it back.
