Lost pet — how to find them fast

A fast, practical plan for finding a lost pet, plus the shelters and microchip registries to contact.

When a pet goes missing in Logan, speed and visibility are everything. Most lost pets are found close to home within the first day.

  1. Search the immediate area. Check nearby gardens, sheds, and quiet spots. Bring treats and a familiar item, and call calmly.
  2. Alert the microchip registry. Flag your pet as missing with the microchip database so your details are current if they're scanned.
  3. Call local shelters and vets. Phone shelters, pounds, and veterinary practices around Logan and ask them to note your pet's description.
  4. Post online and on lost-pet databases. Share clear photos in local community groups and lost-pet services.
  5. Put up visible notices. A simple poster with a photo, the area, and a contact number still works.
  6. Post a listing. Add a lost-pet listing for Logan so found-pet reports nearby surface alongside yours.

Gray tabby cat with blue collar near Main Street

I lost my gray tabby cat yesterday around 6pm. He's about 10 pounds, short hair, white paws, and a small notch in his left ear. He wears a blue plaid collar with a tiny brass bell that jingles as he walks. He answers to Milo and is usually shy around strangers but warms up when I call his name. This cat has been with our family for years and means a lot to us—it's really hard not knowing where he is. Last seen around the Logan Library on Main Street; he sometimes wanders toward the Center Street shops near the river trail. If you spot him, email me at [email protected] so we can arrange a meetup.

Cream dwarf hamster with blue ear tag

Hi, I’m Priya Kapoor. I lost my cream-colored dwarf hamster yesterday around 3pm. It’s tiny—about the size of a ping-pong ball—with soft cream fur, a white belly, and a pink nose. It wears a small blue ear tag and a tiny blue ribbon tied to its back fur for identification. I was by the Logan Public Library on Main Street when it slipped from its travel cage and darted into the bushes near the flower beds outside the bookstore. This little guy means a lot to my family; he’s been with us for years. If anyone found him, please message me—I’m really hoping to get him back soon!

Blue budgie with yellow face – lost in Logan

I lost my blue budgie named Pico yesterday around 3pm in Logan, outside the Logan City Library on Main Street near the Riverside Cafe. Pico is a small parakeet with a cobalt blue body, white face, and yellow cheeks, plus a distinctive red leg band with the letters A12. He loves to mimic clattering dishes and chirps when he’s excited. We got him as a gift last year, and he’s become part of the family—really worried and missing him a lot. If you see him around near the library or Riverside Park, please reach out through the app; I can swing by to pick him up. He’s gentle but curious, and I’d be grateful for any help in bringing him home.

Leopard gecko missing from Exo Terra tank

I lost my leopard gecko yesterday around 3pm near the USU campus on Main Street. It's a small 4-inch gecko, tan with orange spots and a slightly ragged tail; there's a tiny white speck under his left eye. It was in an Exo Terra 20-gallon tank with a red heat lamp; the lid has a scratch. I had him out for enrichment and think he slipped out when I was cleaning the tank near the student union. He’s a big part of my little family—I've had him for almost two years, and he was a gift from my sister. If anyone finds him, please message me; I’d really love to have him back home!

Pink reflective dog harness with bone tag

I lost my pink reflective dog harness yesterday around 3pm near the Logan Central Library on Main Street, outside the coffee shop by the statue. It's a small nylon harness, bright pink with a white bone-shaped metal tag engraved 'Milo', and a thin reflective white stripe along the strap. The color is distinctive and the tag is easy to spot, but Milo keeps wandering, and I'm worried he'll get tangled if it's not found. This harness was a gift from his rescue group and means a lot to us, so I would really love to get it back. If you found it, please message me -- I can describe the exact features and arrange a return.
