Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Lincoln are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Lincoln in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost canines near Memorial Stadium, Lincoln

Friday night around 8:15 p.m., Milo, a friendly golden retriever, and Luna, a quick border collie mix, bolted from my side near the UNL campus, by Memorial Stadium. I was walking them along 27th Street when a jogger's dog darted by and they slipped their collars in the chaos. Milo has a white chest patch and is remarkably trusting; Luna is alert and a little wary of people she doesn’t know. I'm terrified they'll wander into traffic or slip far from the crowd; if you saw two dogs matching that description near the stadium, please let me know on the site.

I lost my adapters near the Capitol, Lincoln.

Last Friday at 7:30 p.m., I realized my travel adapters were missing from my bag after a quick walk through the Haymarket in Lincoln. They’re small but essential: a USB-C to USB-C and a micro-HDMI dongle in a rugged black case. I’d left them on a bench near the sidewalk in front of the Pinnacle Bank Arena as the sun dipped behind the Capitol. Those adapters are crucial for my work trips, and I’m hoping someone picked them up and kept them safe.

USB drives lost on UNL campus

I’m Daniel Morales. I was on UNL City Campus by Love Library around 3:20 p.m. last Friday when two USB drives slipped from my backpack and disappeared into a crack between the steps. The drives hold weeks of lab data and client backups I can’t redo, and losing them makes my stomach drop. I retraced the route from the library entrance to the coffee shop, and back again, but there’s no sign of them. I’m worried someone could access the files, and I’m hoping a kind passerby turned them into the campus lost-and-found. If you’ve seen them around the Love Library area, please help me get them back.

Lost Radios in Lincoln, please help.

I lost my Radios this afternoon around 3:15 p.m. near Haymarket Park, just off 14th Street and O Street. The Radios are two portable units in a tan canvas bag, one with a faded label from a family project. They mattered to me because they remind me of my grandfather and our old hobby, and I’m anxious to get them back. The area was busy with shoppers and vendors, but I must have set them down while chatting with a friend. If you found them, I’d be grateful to be reunited with these pieces of memory.

Lost sheet music from quiet Lincoln recital

I lost my sheet music after a late practice at the Lied Center in Lincoln at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. I’d left the folder on a chair near the stage, the blue cover with my name penciled on the back. The pages hold the pieces I’m preparing for a university audition, and I’m a bundle of nerves about missing a page that could shape my entire performance. It’s driving me nuts knowing those sheets are out there somewhere, especially as dusk settles over the Haymarket and I picture the folder resting on a chair by the stage.

Lost stamps near Nebraska State Capitol, Lincoln, 3:15 PM

Yesterday around 3:15 p.m., I realized my stamps were missing while I walked back to my car near the Nebraska State Capitol on K Street. They were tucked in a small red tin inside my tote, a keepsake from my grandmother's old collection. I’d just paused for a photo at the Sunken Garden and then browsed through a few stalls in the Haymarket, and somewhere between there and the Capitol steps they vanished. I feel a mix of foolish and wistful, because those stamps carry a personal story I’m trying to hold onto.
