Today around 3:20 p.m., I realized my aviants were gone from their cage in my Las Cruces apartment near the NMSU campus clock tower. I had the window open to let in the spring breeze when I stepped into the kitchen and the cage was empty. They are three small birds, bright green with a splash of yellow, and their chirps always pull me back from a rough day.
