I found photographs on a bench outside the Kenosha Public Library along the lakefront, near 7th Avenue, at about 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The stack shows a mix of smiling faces, a dog in a sunlit yard, and a couple by a red storefront. They feel like a window into someone’s life, and I paused to look at each one before tucking them into a folder for safekeeping. It’s strange how a handful of photos can hold so much memory, and I hope they’re reunited with their owner soon.
