Lost red U.S. passport while hiking on Theittens Trail near Harrisonburg, Virginia.

I believe I lost my red U.S. passport on Saturday while I was hiking on theittens Trail around the Harrisonburg area. I remember taking it out to check some travel details, and I must have set it down when I took my backpack off for a minute. I've retraced my steps multiple times but haven't been able to find it. It's very important to me, so any help in locating it would be greatly appreciated!
