Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Greensboro are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Greensboro in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

lost Pins in Greensboro, North Carolina

I lost my Pins at Center City Park in downtown Greensboro around 4:20 PM on Friday. They’re a small silver set my grandmother gave me, worn on my denim jacket every day. I felt a twinge of panic as families walked past the fountain and the sun slanted across the brick wall behind the stage. I keep replaying the moment by the oak tree near the fountain, hoping someone picked them up and tucked them away, a little piece of her with me.

Lost Sheet Music near Elm Street Greensboro

Yesterday afternoon around 3:40 p.m., I stepped out of the Green Bean Cafe on Elm Street with a blue spiral-bound sheet music folder, and I must have dropped it somewhere near the Greensboro Historical Museum steps. The cover has my name scrawled in pencil, and inside are pieces I’ve practiced for weeks for an upcoming recital. Those sheets are irreplaceable to me, and I’m hoping someone picked them up and left them somewhere obvious. I’m feeling a mix of frustration and relief at the possibility that they’re simply waiting to be reclaimed near the cafe or on Elm Street, by the museum.

Blue Anker PowerCore 10000 portable charger

I lost my blue Anker PowerCore 10000 portable charger yesterday around 3pm outside the Starbucks on Elm Street in downtown Greensboro. It's a compact palm-sized charger, mostly black with a blue trim and the Anker logo on the front. The back has a small white sticker with a cartoon fox and a tiny dent on the bottom-right corner from a fall. It still works, and I keep a red micro-USB cable attached to it. I really need it back because I use it every day to power my phone during shifts, and it's become part of my daily routine.

Blue insulin pen case with test strips

I lost my blue insulin pen case yesterday around 6pm near the Walgreens on West Market Street, just outside the Greensboro Coliseum. It's a small hard-shell case, about 6 inches long, with a bright lime-green zipper pull and a white 'MedBrand' label on the front. Inside are two insulin pens, a small vial of fast-acting insulin, and a sleeve of test strips—the whole setup has been in daily use for months and is a bit scuffed along the bottom. This item is essential to my daily routine and I really need it back. If you found it, you can email me at [email protected].

Silver Timex Weekender with blue dial

I lost my silver Timex Weekender yesterday around 3pm near the Barnes & Noble at Four Seasons Town Centre, right off Battleground Ave. The watch is a silver-tone stainless steel case, blue dial with white numerals, and a navy fabric strap with a red keeper. It has a small scratch on the left lug and a tiny chip on the crystal from a light rain, but it's still legible. It was a gift from my grandmother and means a lot to me, so I really need it back. If anyone found it, please reach out—I can meet up anywhere around Greensboro and I’d happily say thanks with a reward.
