Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Flint are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Flint in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost handheld radios downtown Flint

I was volunteering with a local community group this morning in Flint, around 9:10 a.m., near Saginaw Street by the Flint Public Library. I set two handheld radios on a bench while I briefed the kids, and in the bustle I turned away for a moment. When I looked back, they were gone—I must have lost them. They’re not fancy, just reliable radios we use to coordinate activities in the riverfront park and along Court Street, and losing them puts the day at risk. They’ve got stickers from our local radio club, which makes them easy to recognize. If you happened to see them, I’d appreciate any help reuniting them.

Lost passports in Flint, Michigan

I lost my passports on Friday evening, around 7:15 PM, on Saginaw Street near the Dort Financial Center in Flint. I had just left the coffee shop and checked my jacket when I realized they were gone. The blue covers feel like a lifeline for my upcoming trip, and I’m overwhelmed with worry about travel delays and plans falling apart. If you’ve seen them, please reach out through the site; I’m hoping a kind soul turned them in near the riverfront.

Vintage coin collection in leather-bound case

I lost my vintage coin collection yesterday around 3pm near the Capitol Theatre on Saginaw Street in Flint. It's tucked inside a dark brown leather-bound display case with a cracked glass lid and a brass clasp etched with the initials 'AM'. Inside are about 40 coins set in red felt slots, including a 1909-S Lincoln cent with wear and a rainbow-toned Morgan silver dollar. The case has a small dent along the bottom edge and a faded label on the inside cover that reads 'A. Michaels Collection'. It was my grandfather's, so it has real sentimental value and I’d be grateful to get it back.

Red nylon dog collar with name tag

I lost my red nylon dog collar with a small silver name tag yesterday around 3pm near the Starbucks on S. Saginaw St in downtown Flint. It's a lightweight adjustable collar, size small, with a blue reflective stripe and a tiny paw-print charm on the buckle. The name tag reads 'Milo' and has the phone number (555) 012-3456 engraved. This collar was a gift from my sister when Milo joined our family, so it's got sentimental value and I really need it back.

Cream knit scarf with pinecone pin

I lost my cream knit scarf yesterday around 6pm near the Starbucks on Saginaw Street by The Whiting in downtown Flint. It's a medium-width scarf, about 60 inches long, with a tiny pinecone pin stitched near the inner tag. The scarf is a bit fuzzy and has a faint coffee stain toward the end from yesterday's coffee run. It was a gift from my grandmother and means a lot to me—it's one of my few warm, seasonal items I hold onto through the Flint winters. If anyone found it, I’d be really grateful to get it back and can meet up to pick it up.
