On Tuesday at about 6:20 p.m., I headed out of Oakwood Mall with two shopping bags in my hands—the blue tote with a pinecone pattern and a plain beige reusable bag. I stepped onto Main Street, crossed the parking lot, and by the time I reached the Eau Claire Plaza, the bags were gone.
