Description
Last Tuesday around 7:05 p.m., I was leaving a rehearsal space behind the Council House and Old Market Square in Nottingham when my two flutes slipped from my backpack and vanished. One is a silver concert flute in a sturdy black case; the other is a wooden flute with a brass headjoint. I walked toward Stoney Street and along the River Trent, asking shopkeepers and peering into doorways, but they’re gone. Music has always been my anchor, and these flutes are essential for lessons I’m giving at college; I’m hopeful that someone who loves a tune found them and kept them safe.
