Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Denver are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Denver in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost paintings near Denver Art Museum

I’m a painter, and last Friday around 7:15 PM I realized two of my oil paintings were missing from my portable studio after a small opening in the RiNo area. I headed toward the Denver Art Museum, then along 14th Street toward Civic Center Park, but the canvases were gone. The works are large—about 2 by 3 feet—one with a sunset over the city and the other a rugged mountain glow. They’re priceless to me not for value but for memory and work. If you’ve seen them, please contact through the site so I can be reunited with my pieces.

Dolls lost in Denver.

I’m writing with a heavy heart because my daughter's dolls disappeared yesterday afternoon. We were at City Park in Denver around 4:30 pm, near the lake by the boating dock. The dolls are two 18-inch rag dolls: one has red yarn hair and a blue dress, the other is a petite blond with a pink scarf. They mean the world to her, and I’m holding out hope someone found them and can help bring them back to our family.

Lost Chairs outside DPAC, Denver

Sunday around 9:15 p.m., I lost my chairs outside the Denver Performing Arts Complex on Wynkoop Street, just a short walk from Civic Center Park. I was setting up a small pop-up art display when I stepped away for a moment to grab a snack, and when I returned the two folding chairs were gone. They’re older wooden chairs with chipped green paint and one leg missing, but they’re part of my little Denver project and losing them makes the setup feel incomplete. I’ve searched the nearby block and asked a few security folks, but no sign yet. If you spotted them around DPAC, please let the site know.

Lost sheet music in Denver after rehearsal

I was packing up after a late rehearsal around 6:15 p.m. outside Union Station in Denver when the folder with my sheet music slipped from my bag. The top page is for a piano piece I practice every Sunday, the red cover stained from a coffee spill on my ride over earlier today. I retraced my steps along 17th Street, checked the bike racks by the fountain, then asked a security guard at the entrance, but it’s vanished. It feels unreal not having the notes to guide me, and I keep imagining the music fluttering away with the Denver wind.

Lost student ID near Union Station, Denver.

I realized I’d lost my student ID around 3:15 p.m. Friday while rushing through the Union Station plaza toward the 16th Street Mall. I must have dropped it somewhere between the station entrance and the tram platform. It’s a must-have for library access and class check-ins, and the thought of showing up to campus without it makes my stomach knot up. I retraced a few blocks along the Civic Center Park corridor, hoping a quick passerby picked it up and handed it in. If you found it, I’d be grateful for any help in getting it back.
