Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Chico are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Chico in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost Student ID near Meriam Library steps

I realized around 4:45 p.m. on Friday that my student ID was missing somewhere near the Meriam Library steps on the Chico State campus. I carry it every day for class access and the meal plan, and losing it has me anxious about library entries and campus building checks. The card is plain but important to me, and it reminds me of late-night study sessions and group projects with friends. If anyone found a small blue ID with a Chico State sticker, please keep an eye out for it around the campus hub; I’d be grateful to get it back.

Lost appliances in Chico near downtown

On Saturday at 9:15 PM, I realized my appliances were missing from my Chico apartment on West 3rd Street, just a few blocks from the downtown farmers market along Broadway. The blender, toaster oven, and a small mixer were left on the kitchen counter, and now the room feels quiet and empty. I keep replaying the moment I shut the door and heard nothing but the fridge hum dying away. If you saw anything around that area after 9 PM, please let the site know so I can sort this out through the platform.

Lost Document Holders near Chico City Plaza

On Saturday at 1:15 p.m., I realized my Document Holders were missing after a quick meeting in downtown Chico, near the Chico City Plaza by the gazebo outside City Hall. Inside those holders are important work papers, receipts, and a copy of my resume—nothing dramatic, but it would be a relief to have them back. I retraced steps along Main Street from Broadway to 3rd, asking a few shopkeepers if anyone had found them. I know they’re probably tucked away somewhere waiting to be picked up.

Lost sheet music near Chico State Library steps

Sunday around 2:45 p.m., I was walking from the Chico State Performing Arts Building toward the Library steps and must have dropped a folder of sheet music along the way. It’s a tan binder with a red label, pages from Mozart to contemporary pieces, and a pencil tucked inside the spine. I’ve checked Bidwell Park and the campus walkways, but nothing turned up yet. This music matters to me because it holds years of lessons and late-night practice, and I’m hopeful it turns up where someone noticed it.

Lost leashes in Chico, near Bidwell Park

Hi, I’m Mia, and I’m still hoping to find my two leashes. I was at Bidwell Park around 6:15 pm this past Saturday, near the Chico Creek Trailhead by the pine grove, when we paused to take a photo and I must have dropped them. One leash is gray nylon with a red handle; the other is plain black. They’re well-used and mean a lot to our daily walks. I’ve walked the area twice, calling out and scanning the ground, but the light was fading and I’m worried they’ll be carried away by the creek. If someone found them, I’d be forever grateful for the help.
