Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Chico are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Chico in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost leashes in Chico, near Bidwell Park

Hi, I’m Mia, and I’m still hoping to find my two leashes. I was at Bidwell Park around 6:15 pm this past Saturday, near the Chico Creek Trailhead by the pine grove, when we paused to take a photo and I must have dropped them. One leash is gray nylon with a red handle; the other is plain black. They’re well-used and mean a lot to our daily walks. I’ve walked the area twice, calling out and scanning the ground, but the light was fading and I’m worried they’ll be carried away by the creek. If someone found them, I’d be forever grateful for the help.

Lost coins near Chico State campus

Friday around 11:05 am I realized I’d left a small coin pouch behind at Chico State University, near the campus quad by the bookstore. I’d just stepped out from the library to grab a quick coffee when the pouch slipped from my jacket pocket onto the bench by the fountain. The collection means a lot to me: a 1943 steel penny, a couple of foreign coins, and a family token from my grandmother. I’m anxious because these aren’t just money; they’re memories. If you saw a coin pouch on the bench near the quad or by the bookstore steps, please let me know through the site.

Lost action figures from my Chico shelf.

Last night around 6:30 PM I was tidying up my apartment near City Plaza in Chico when I realized a few of my action figures were missing from the display shelf. The set is small but meaningful to me; a red robot with a chipped paint edge and a green alien with googly eyes were on top, and I remember brushing dust from them just before I left the room. I retraced my steps this morning, walking from Broadway down to 4th Street, checking under the couch cushions, the closet, and the small bookcase where they usually sit. These figures are a reminder of happier days, and I’d be grateful to have them back where they belong.

LOST: My two felines in Chico

Last night around 5:45 pm, I realized my two cats weren’t in the house in Chico. Mochi, a gray tabby with white paws, and Pepper, a calico with a distinctive notch on her ear, slipped out when I opened the door to bring in the groceries. I’d taken them for a stroll near Bidwell Park a few hours earlier, and I worry they wandered toward Chico Creek behind the university area. They’re cherished companions, and I’m anxious about their safety. If someone spots them, I hope you’ll check this post and help us reunite.

Lost scarf near Chico State Library steps

At 7:15 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, I realized my scarf was missing after a walk around Chico State's Library steps. It's a charcoal knit with a slim cobalt stripe along the edge and a tiny fray that’s become my security blanket on chilly nights. I wore it daily when biking from Fifth Street to the library, and it carries a faint peppermint scent from a café on Main Street. It means a lot to me because it was a gift from my grandmother, a small warmth I cling to during finals week. If you found it around the Library steps or near Bidwell Park entrances, please help me get it back.

Lost Remote Controls near Chico Mall.

Hey everyone, I lost my Remote Controls in Chico, California. I last had them around 9:15 PM yesterday, outside my apartment on West 4th Street, near the Chico Mall. They're just two generic remotes, but one is a glossy black with a red power button, the other is a matte gray with a cracked corner. I rely on them daily to watch the news and pause the TV when the dog barks. I’m hoping someone picked them up and tucked them somewhere safe before the night got busy.
