Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Cambridge are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Cambridge in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

LOST DVDs near Market Square, Cambridge

I’m Oliver Bennett. I lost a small bundle of DVDs around 6:45 PM on Saturday near Market Square in Cambridge, by King’s Parade and the Cambridge Market. They’re in a black carry case with a white label; among them are a couple of titles we planned to watch after a lecture. I must admit I’m frustrated—it’s not just the films, it’s a reminder of a planned movie night with friends. If these are found, please log them via the site so I can reclaim them.

LOST: holiday decorations in Cambridge, near Market Square.

Last Friday around 6:15 pm, I was outside Cambridge Market Square helping set up for a small charity display. I carried a tote with holiday decorations—handmade paper stars, a string of warm-white lights, and a couple of glass baubles. I popped into a cafe on King's Parade for a quick hot chocolate, and when I came back the tote was gone. The Cambridge evening felt chilly and I felt a bit lonely as I retraced my steps. If anyone saw something by Market Square or near the Grand Arcade, please get in touch—these decorations mean a lot to us.

Red Nike running shoes, size 9, lost in Cambridge

I was out for a run yesterday around 3pm, starting near the Harvard Square T stop and heading down Mass Ave toward the Cambridge Common. I must have kicked them off during a quick stretch outside the Starbucks on Brattle Street near the Cambridge Common and somehow left them there. They're red Nike running shoes, size 9 US, with a white swoosh and a mesh upper. The left shoe has a tiny tear at the toe and a neon blue lace, while the right has a faint scuff on the heel. They were a gift from my sister and mean a lot to me - if you found them, email [email protected]; I would be incredibly grateful.

Black Korg Minilogue XD with red cat sticker

I lost my black Korg Minilogue XD analog poly synth outside the Harvard Coop in Harvard Square, Cambridge, yesterday around 3pm. It's a compact 37-key keyboard with a matte black casing and a small dent on the bottom edge. There’s a bright red cat-shaped sticker on the back panel and a blue USB-C cable still wrapped around the unit. This instrument is in the Electronic Instruments category, and it holds sentimental value for me because it was a birthday gift from my sister and I’ve been using it for gigs lately. If anyone found it, please reach out—I’d be incredibly grateful to get it back.

Black Yamaha trumpet with dent near bell

I lost my black Yamaha trumpet yesterday around 3pm outside the Cambridge Public Library on Broadway, near the Main Street crosswalk. It's a Yamaha YTR-2330 with a few worn lacquer spots showing brass, a small dent near the bell, and a black hard case with a red interior. There's a white sticker on the case that says 'Cam Jazz Club' and the mouthpiece receiver is engraved with my initials 'P.P.'; it was a gift from my grandfather and means a lot to me. If you think you might have seen it, email me at [email protected]; I really need it back, and I’m offering a small reward.
