I paced along 6th Avenue, Chestnut Street, and downtown Penn Street, hoping they were just tucked somewhere, but there was no sign. The cases are dark wood with brass latches; one violin has a small crack near the scroll. The thought of someone finding them and not knowing how important they are makes this feel personal.
