I lost my blue Penguin Classics paperback edition of Langston Hughes's Collected Poems yesterday around 3pm near the Starbucks by the Mall of Abilene on Buffalo Gap Road. The cover is blue with gold lettering, and the spine is a bit creased from daily use. Inside, there’s a red satin bookmark and a small blue ink note I wrote on page 42: 'For when the world gets loud.' Also, the inside cover has a handwritten line: 'Priya, love from Aunt Leela,' in blue ink—my sentimental little touch. This book means a lot to me; it was a gift from my late aunt. If anyone finds it, I’d be forever grateful and can meet in Abilene to pick it up.
