Silver ring with emerald inset found near Winchester Cathedral

I found a silver ring this morning around 9:45am on College Street outside Winchester Cathedral. It's a slim sterling silver band, about 2.2mm wide, with a small emerald bezel setting that’s a touch faceted. Inside the band there's a neat engraving 'L.A.' and a tiny scratch near the setting—a couple of distinctive marks that stand out if you know the piece. The ring looks in good condition overall, just a little dull from the walk; I figured someone might be missing it and wanted to try to get it back to its rightful owner.
