Found an item? Your responsibilities

Found something in Omaha / Council Bluffs? Handling it responsibly protects both you and the owner. Rules vary by location, but the principles are consistent.

  1. Make a reasonable effort to find the owner. Check for ID, contact details, or anything that identifies who it belongs to.

  4. Store it safely. Keep the item secure and unchanged while you try to return it.
  5. Post a found listing. Add a found-item listing for Omaha / Council Bluffs with enough detail for the real owner to identify it — while holding back one verifying detail.

Found a bundle of old photographs.

I found these photographs this afternoon around 4:30 p.m. behind the Old Market arches in downtown Omaha. They were tucked in a crumpled envelope inside a jacket pocket from a thrift-store donation bin I was sorting through near 13th Street. The images look like a family’s memory—portraits on a brick street, a gray Chevy in a quiet winter yard, and dates scribbled in the corner. It felt strange and intimate to stumble on someone else’s life, and I’d like to see them go back to the people they belong to. If you recognize any faces or clues, please use the posting so the owner can reclaim them.

Found document holders in Old Market, Omaha

I was strolling through downtown Omaha this morning around 9:42 AM and found a bundle of document holders tucked under a bench near the brick arches on 13th Street in the Old Market. They’re color-coded—blue, red, and clear—and stuffed with receipts, travel itineraries, and one folder stamped with a Nebraska logo. They clearly belong to someone trying to keep track of important papers, not junk. I found them, kept them safe, and posted here in the hope the owner recognizes their labels and will reclaim them.

Black Korg PitchClip tuner with neon star sticker

I found a black Korg PitchClip guitar tuner clipped to a guitar case near the Orpheum Theater on S 15th St in downtown Omaha this afternoon around 3:15pm. It’s a tiny clip-on tuner with a matte black body and a red LED display that lights up when active. The back has a neon green star sticker, and there’s a small nick along the bottom edge from being bumped by a bag. It’s in good working condition and clearly belongs to a musician who’d been playing nearby. Happy to return it to its owner—if you can describe the sticker or the exact red display brightness, it’s yours.

Found DeWalt drill kit in yellow case

I found a DeWalt 20V drill kit this afternoon around 3pm in the parking lot behind the Home Depot on 180th Street in Omaha. It's in a yellow and black hard plastic case, about 12 inches long, with two batteries and a charger tucked inside. The drill shows light wear, a few scuffs on the handle, and a small red sticker with the initials 'A.H.' on the lid. There are 5 drill bits loose inside the case, which helped me identify it as a kit rather than just a loose drill. If you think it's yours, I can meet you nearby in the parking lot for pickup.

Seiko 5 Sports watch found near Durham Museum

I found a Seiko 5 Sports stainless steel watch with a black dial this morning around 9:15am in the parking lot behind the Durham Museum on 10th Street, Omaha. It's in decent shape, with a brushed stainless case, a clean black dial, white lume markers, and a day/date window at 3. The bracelet shows a few light scratches and there's a tiny dent near the 2 o'clock bezel, plus a red thread tied to the last keeper—easy to spot. The back is engraved with 'JDL' and a small serial number I can faintly make out. Happy to help reunite it with its owner; if this sounds like yours, DM me with any distinctive details you remember.

Gray JBL Flip 5 speaker found near Old Market

I found a gray JBL Flip 5 speaker (category: Miscellaneous Electronics) this afternoon around 3:15pm on the sidewalk outside the Old Market, along 12th Street between Howard and Grand in downtown Omaha. It's in decent shape with a few light scratches and a red sticker on the back that reads KC—hard to miss. The charging-port silicone cover is missing and the top buttons feel a little sticky, but it powers up and connects to my phone—felt right to try to reunite it with its owner. I figured a local owner would want it back, so I'm hoping to locate you. If it belongs to you, email [email protected] and we can arrange a safe pickup.
