Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Lexington are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Lexington in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost devices near University of Kentucky campus

Hi there, I realized last Friday around 6:45 p.m. that my devices were missing near the University of Kentucky campus. I was on the pedestrian bridge by the UK Student Center and Limestone Street when I last saw them. They are a black laptop, a gray tablet, and a silver phone tucked into a black laptop bag. I’m anxious about the data on them and I’m hoping someone turned them in somewhere around the student union, the library, or along Limestone Street.

LOST: GPS Devices in Lexington, KY

I lost my GPS devices after a busy Friday evening in Lexington. At 9:15 p.m. last Friday I realized they weren’t in my bag as I stepped out of my car near Rupp Arena on West Main Street. The two devices are small gray boxes with black trim, tucked in a red neoprene sleeve. I can picture the wet pavement along Limestone Street as I retraced my steps between the student lots and the UK campus, hoping for a glint of plastic under neon signs. These little gadgets matter a lot for a field study I’m conducting, and I’m hoping someone picked them up and will return them to the correct place in time.

Lost pins near Cheapside Park in Lexington

My name is Grace Bennett. I lost a small set of enamel pins on Saturday around 11:15 a.m. at Cheapside Park during a walk near the Lexington Farmers Market. The pins meant a lot to me; they feature a tiny fox, a crescent moon, and a star and were gifts from my grandmother. I wore them on my jacket for good luck, and their loss feels personal. If you have seen them, I would be grateful to hear they have found their way back near the market entrance.

Lost Driver's License in Lexington

At 9:45 AM this morning, I realized I must have left my driver's license somewhere around the University of Kentucky campus in Lexington. I was walking from the Student Center toward Main Street, passing the William T. Young Library when I noticed it was gone. The license is a standard blue card with my photo on the front, and losing it has me feeling anxious about daily errands. If anyone found it, I’d really appreciate it getting back to me.

lost: Toasters in Lexington

I came home after helping a friend move around 9:10 p.m. Friday and discovered my two toasters were missing from the kitchen counter in my Lexington apartment. I’m sure I left them on the counter on South Broadway after unloading groceries, and now they’re gone. They aren’t fancy, just reliable, and I use them daily, so losing them is more annoying than anything else. If someone picked them up by chance, I’d really appreciate their return through the site.

Cockatiel with bright yellow crest and orange cheeks

I lost my cockatiel, a grey bird with a bright yellow crest and orange cheeks, yesterday around 3:15pm. It was perched on my shoulder outside the Kroger on Limestone Street in Lexington, near the UK Medical Center, and it slipped from my grip when a door slammed. It’s mostly grey, with that sunny yellow crest and orange cheek patches that really stand out. There’s a tiny chipped feather on the left wing I can use to identify it. This bird is a gift from my grandmother and has a lot of sentimental value; I’m really hoping someone who finds it will reach out so I can bring it home.
