Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around San Antonio are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for San Antonio in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

LOST: Kittens in San Antonio, TX

Last night at around 8:15 p.m., I opened the back gate of my apartment near The Alamo, and the two kittens slipped out into the warm evening. They’re siblings—one gray tabby with white paws, the other cream-colored with tiny blue collars. I’ve been wandering the River Walk and around Alamo Plaza calling their names, leaving a small dish of tuna on the curb, but the city feels huge and unpredictable, and I’m afraid one will dart into a shopfront or traffic. I’m hoping someone nearby saw them and kept them safe until I find them.

LOST Microwaves near River Walk, San Antonio, TX

Last Friday around 7:30 PM, I realized I’d somehow misplaced a microwave while helping a friend move in the Pearl District area near the River Walk in San Antonio. We carried it through a courtyard by Market Street and set it down on a bench while we checked directions. A few minutes later it was gone, and I’ve been worried about it ever since. It’s a plain white microwave with a dent on the corner, nothing fancy, but it’s mine and I’d love to get it back so I can finish cooking for my apartment. If you saw it around the Pearl or along the River Walk, I’d be grateful to hear anything.

Blue-green budgie with yellow head, lost near River Walk

I lost my blue-green budgie with a bright yellow head yesterday around 3pm after I left the cage door open while cleaning the kitchen. He darted toward the River Walk area near the Arneson River Theatre and La Villita, and I haven't seen him since. The bird is about the size of a sparrow, with a small red feather patch on the left wing and a white ring around his eye. He wears a tiny red leg band with the number 7, which should help identify him. This bird was a gift from my daughter, and it means a lot to me; I'm really worried and would be incredibly grateful if anyone spotted him and could bring him home.

Red Milwaukee M12 drill with black grip

I lost my red Milwaukee M12 cordless drill with the black rubber grip yesterday around 3pm in the parking lot behind The Home Depot on San Pedro Ave near I-10. It's the drill I reach for for most of my weekend home repairs, so it's pretty essential to me. The body has a small dent near the chuck and there’s a blue painter’s tape label with the initials 'AL' stuck on the battery, plus I keep the charger in the same case. If anyone found it, I’d really appreciate getting it back — it’s my go-to tool and I’ve got a bunch of projects waiting.
