Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Oregon Coast in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost pins along the Oregon Coast.

On a foggy morning around 9:10 AM, I was wandering Nye Beach in Newport when I must have dropped a small pouch containing several enamel pins from a college trip and a favorite hiking badge. The pouch was light gray with a tiny whale pin still attached; one pin shows a lighthouse, another a goofy compass. They’re not worth a fortune, but they’re priceless to me because each pin marks a memory of different coast adventures. I searched along the boardwalk near the Yaquina Bay Bridge but didn’t see them. If you know where they ended up, I’d be grateful for help reuniting them with their owner.

Lost sports equipment along the Oregon coast.

I lost my sports equipment bag on the Oregon Coast yesterday evening. At about 6:15 p.m., I was walking from the Yaquina Bay lighthouse overlook in Newport when I realized the bag wasn’t in the spot where I left it on the bench. It holds gear for several sports—a gray backpack, a soccer ball, a couple of rackets, and a water bottle. I’m worried someone may have picked it up or moved it, and I feel anxious about replacing what I use for practice. If it turns up, I hope it’s found and kept safe near the lighthouse until I can pick it up.

Lost scarves along the Oregon Coast.

I was walking along Cannon Beach at 6:20 PM on Saturday when my scarves slipped from my bag and vanished near Haystack Rock. They are two soft wool scarves, one gray with a purple fringe and the other navy with a teal stripe. They were gifts from my grandmother, so they carry a lot of warmth and memory for me. I scanned the promenade and around Mo's Restaurant, calling out into the evening as the tide turned and the lights came on.

Black Michael Kors tote with seashell charm

I lost my black Michael Kors tote yesterday around 3pm near Mo's Chowder House on the Newport Bayfront on the Oregon Coast. It's about 14 inches wide and 11 inches tall, made of pebbled leather with a small gold MK logo and a gray interior plus a turquoise lining I added; there's slight wear on the bottom corners. A seashell charm hangs from the zipper pull and there's a faint coffee stain on the bottom corner from yesterday's pier trip. Inside are a few cards, a photo of my grandmother, and a handwritten note; this bag is sentimental, and I really need it back. If you’ve seen it, email [email protected].

Red plaid dog harness with reflective trim

I lost my red plaid Ruffwear dog harness yesterday around 3pm while strolling the Seaside Promenade near the Turnaround by the Seaside Aquarium along the Oregon Coast. It’s a medium Ruffwear harness with black buckles and bright orange reflective trim on the chest panel, and a small tear near the neck opening. There’s also a blue ID tag with my dog’s name, Milo, and my phone number. This harness is Milo’s everyday gear, and it holds sentimental value for us—we've used it on every coastal trip since we adopted him last spring. If anyone finds it, I’d be really grateful to get it back.

Red North Face parka with faux fur hood

I lost my red North Face parka yesterday around 3pm near Haystack Rock parking lot in Cannon Beach along the Oregon Coast. It's a medium, waterproof shell with a plush gray faux-fur hood. There's a small pine-tree patch on the left sleeve and a black two-way zipper. Inside pocket holds a folded photo and a handwritten note. It's sentimental because it was a gift from my grandmother who passed away last year, so I really need it back. If anyone spots it, please message me on this app—I’d be incredibly grateful to get it back.
