Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Milwaukee are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Milwaukee in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost Driver's License in Milwaukee

I was at the Milwaukee Public Market on Saturday around 2:50 p.m. when I realized my driver's license wasn't in my wallet. I retraced my steps from the cheese counter to the souvenir shop and back out along Water Street, but I couldn't find it anywhere. The card has a recent photo and my Milwaukee address, which makes me anxious about identity safety. I keep hoping someone honest picked it up and will hand it in through the proper channels; I could really use it back before my trip next week. If you found it, I'd be grateful to have it returned.

Blue hand-painted porcelain vase with gold rim

Yesterday around 3pm I realized my blue hand-painted porcelain vase is missing. It’s about 12 inches tall, cobalt blue with white floral motifs and a delicate gold rim; the glaze has a subtle crackle. It’s a local Milwaukee piece, signed on the bottom 'A. Kim 2021'. There’s a tiny chip on the lip that I hope someone would recognize. It was a gift from my grandmother and it means the world to me, so I’d really appreciate it if it’s found near the Milwaukee Public Market area in the Third Ward, outside the entrance on Broadway and St. Paul Ave.

Black Anker PowerCore 10000mAh charger with pineapple sticker

I lost my black Anker PowerCore 10000mAh portable charger yesterday around 3pm outside a coffee shop near the Milwaukee Public Market on Water Street in the Third Ward. It’s a compact, matte black block, about the size of a phone, with a small pineapple sticker on the back and a frayed USB-C cable still poking out. There are a few light scratches and a tiny dent on the bottom-right corner. I rely on it daily for work and navigation, so I really need it back. If anyone finds it, please drop it off near the Milwaukee Public Market or message me.

Navy hoodie with pine-tree embroidery, lost near Public Market

I lost my navy blue hoodie this afternoon around 4:15pm near the Milwaukee Public Market on Water Street. It's a size L fleece-lined hoodie from Nike, with a small pine-tree embroidery on the left chest and a coffee stain on the right cuff from this morning's latte spill. The zipper pull is slightly bent and there’s a hidden inner pocket where I kept my bus pass. This hoodie means a lot to me because it was a gift from my mom last winter, and I wore it during a lot of tough days. If anyone found it, I’d be forever grateful to get it back—you can reach me at [email protected].

Black Ray-Ban Wayfarer glasses with cracked left lens

I lost my Black Ray-Ban Wayfarer glasses yesterday around 3pm near the Milwaukee Public Market on Water Street. They’re glossy black acetate with silver hinges, size medium, and the left lens has a visible crack. Inside the temple, there are tiny initials 'A.J.' etched in, and they came with a charcoal-gray hard case with a red lining that I think someone might have found. They mean a lot to me—they were a birthday gift from my mom and I really need them back.
