Gold-tone Elgin pocket watch with engraved initials J.R.
I lost my vintage gold-tone Elgin pocket watch yesterday around 6pm. It was tucked in a small black leather pouch and I last had it near the City Market on Market Street, just outside the brick arches by the corner of Meeting and Market in Charleston. The watch is about 1.75 inches across, with a white dial, black Roman numerals, and a thin gold chain. The back is engraved with the initials J.R., and there’s a tiny dent along the rim that makes the edge a bit uneven. This watch is a family heirloom and means a lot to me; I’d be grateful to get it back if anyone found it.
Lost wrist watch in Charleston near Market Street
I was walking along Market Street, near the Charleston City Market, at about 4:15 p.m. today when my wrist watch slipped from my wrist and vanished into the crowd. It's a silver-toned face with a black leather band and a small scratch on the bezel. I retraced my steps toward the market stalls and checked the wooden benches lining the street, but I couldn’t find it. It carries sentimental value—it was a gift from my grandmother, and it helped mark many memories of trips to the waterfront. If someone sees it, please keep it safe in this area near the market until I can return later this week.
